Capsule Endoscopy is a painless procedure that allows the doctor to examine the lining of the middle part of the gastrointestinal tract, which is difficult to approach through conventional endoscopy. After overnight fasting, the patient is asked to swallow a pill-sized camera, which transmits the images to a data recorder worn on a belt by the patient. The images can be viewed on a computer. The main indications include obscure GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease and coelic cprue.

The urea breath test (UBT) is a procedure for diagnosing the presence of a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). H. pylori causes inflammation, ulcers, and atrophy of the stomach. The main indication of the test is to find out if the infection has been successfully eradicated.
